Sanna Marin, Finland's party prime minister, has today defended her actions after she was filmed enjoying a wild night out with friends earlier this month. Ms Marin, a 36-year-old married mother-of-one, said 'nothing inappropriate' happens in footage which captured her dancing hip-to-hip in a nightclub with a male pop star at 4am, and said that 'everyone needs a fun night out'. Ms Marin also denied ever taking drugs but said she had submitted to a test anyway to prove her innocence after more footage, captured earlier the same evening, caught one of her friends using a slang term for cocaine. Journalists questioned whether she would have been in a position to make snap decisions if a crisis had begun during the party, but Ms Marin shot back that her entire time in office has been during a 'crisis - including Covid an the Ukraine war - and that she has never been called upon in the middle of a Saturday night.

Ryan Giggs' (pictured left arriving at court today) ex-girlfriend penned a 'final goodbye' letter for the former footballer in which she accused him of being a 'liar and a cheat', a court today heard. Kate Greville (pictured right) wrote the letter - naming several women who she believed he was having an affair with - after allegedly finding proof on his iPad that he had been unfaithful with eight people during their relationship. She also accused the former Manchester United star, 48, of attempting to charm other women by getting his 'guy at Harrods' to send shoes, bags and dresses. However Ms Greville never sent the letter to Giggs. Instead she penned it and sent it to a friend who she asked to check it for her. The letter was read out in court during Giggs' domestic assault trial, in which he is accused of 'headbutting' Ms Greville during a row at his £1.7million Manchester mansions in November 2020.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson (pictured left: Arriving in court today) has today arrived in court to give evidence in Ryan Giggs's (pictured right: Arriving in court this morning) domestic assault trial. The legendary ex-football boss, 80, who helped convince a teenage Giggs to join the football club, arrived at Manchester Crown Court this afternoon. He is giving evidence in his former star midfielder's assault case. Giggs, 48, is accused of 'headbutting' his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville during a row at his £1.7million mansion in Worsley, Greater Manchester, in November 2020. The ex-United star is also accused of assaulting Ms Greville's sister Emma during the same row and using coercive and controlling behaviour. He denies the allegations and is on trial.

BBC audiences will fondly remember the 'comedy great' mostly as Elizabeth Warden, neighbour and reluctant confidant of snob Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping up Appearance (the pair on left) and as Miss Davenport in the Last of the Summer Wine (top right), but Tewson had a career from the 1950s onwards on screen and stage. The 'wonderful' actress was also a regular on David Frost on Sunday with comedy greats Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker (bottom right) and starred in the sitcom Shelley in the 70s and 80s after she graduated from RADA in 1952. She also married fellow actor Leonard Rossiter for three years before they divorced in 1961. Tewson lamenting their brief time together said: 'Len was always going off with other women and being uncaring.' Former EastEnders actress Debbie Arnold paid tribute to her saying: 'So sad we lost two wonderful people firstly Bruce Montague and now two days later - Josephine Tewson. Judy Buxton and I had the honour of travelling the world and the UK with these comedy greats ending up in the West End. We had such fun. I adored Jo.'

The owner will only rent the flat on North Road, Islington, which has two rooms including the bathroom (bottom) and open plan kitchen, bedroom and living room area (the rest, pictured) to someone on at least £29,250 per year. This is when the average annual worker's salary is £38,600 for full-time employees and £13,803 for those working part-time. The property, featured on OpenRent, does come with a bathroom with a full-sized bath, though along with a toilet, shower curtain and sink. In the kitchen, there is also an oven, a microwave, fridge and kettle which is also in the same room as the sofa and the bedroom which is in an alcove upstairs overlooking the living room below. And in a revealing move showing just how dire London's rental market is, the property has actually just been let - having been listed for under two weeks.

Apple security flaw threatens 'everything we hold dear': BILLIONS across globe scramble to update iPhones and Macs as tech giant reveals hackers can take control of devices and access bank accounts

Billions of Apple users were today urged to update their devices after the firm disclosed serious security vulnerabilities for iPhones, iPads and Macs that could potentially allow attackers to take complete control of them. The US company said it is 'aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited' and released two security reports about the issue on Wednesday, but they have only now received more widespread attention. Security experts told users to update affected devices - the iPhone 6S and later models; and several models of the iPad , including the 5th generation and later, all iPad Pros, the iPad Mini 4 and later and the iPad Air 2 and later. The update, iOS 15.6.1, also applies to the iPod Touch 7th generation. In addition, Mac computers on MacOS Monterey are affected - with users urged to download '12.5.1'. The issues were found by an anonymous researcher in 'WebKit', the browser engine that powers Safari; and 'Kernel', which is the core of the operating system. In this update on its support page, Apple said one of the flaws means a malicious application 'may be able to execute arbitrary code with Kernel privileges' - which has been described as meaning full access to the device. Andy Norton, chief cyber risk officer at Armis, told MailOnline today: 'This clearly has wide-reaching implications. Apple products have become a mainstay of everyday life, facial recognition, banking apps, health data. Pretty much everything we hold dear resides on our Apple products.'

Russia's huge tank losses are blamed on 'inept' Kremlin top brass as MoD mocks 'poor' efforts of Vladimir Putin's troops in Ukraine

A daily intelligence report by the Ministry of Defence said Moscow had lost a large number of battle tanks because they were not equipped with explosive reactive armour technology - or ERA. Data released by Ukraine's military said their troops have killed more than 44,000 Russian soldiers and destroyed some 1,800 tanks. Other estimates, such as from Oryx - a military blog that has tracked Russian losses since the start of the war - put Moscow's equipment losses even higher. Oryx, which tracks losses based on visual confirmation, says more than 5,000 Russian military vehicles have been either destroyed, damaged or seized by Ukraine's forces - including more than 3,000 tanks. Moscow brazenly expected to seize Kyiv in a matter of days. Instead, Putin's forces have found themselves fighting a protracted conflict against a fierce Ukrainian resistance. While Russia has employed Soviet-era tactics and military hardware, Ukraine has deployed smaller, more mobile units - to great effect - that can strike targets and quickly retreat from danger before the invaders can react - allowing Ukraine to halt Russia's advance.

Chilling moment husband dragged suitcase stuffed with his new wife's body through garden to dump it in bushes behind their home after strangling her to death on their wedding night - as he's jailed for life for horrific murder

Chilling CCTV footage today revealed the shocking moment a husband dragged his new wife's corpse from their home in a suitcase - before taking it across a field and dumping it behind a bush, just four days after they married. Powerfully-built 'bully' Thomas Nutt, 46, who was today jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years, punched and then strangled 5ft grandmother Dawn Walker before hiding her in a cupboard at their home. Bradford Crown Court heard that Nutt, of Lightcliffe, near Halifax, broke her leg so he could fit her corpse into a suitcase - which he later tossed over a fence before hiding it in bushes, where her remains were found. Nutt lied to her family, blaming her disappearance on her mental health, sent them false texts supposedly from her, and convinced her youngest daughter to help try to find her, all the while knowing she was dead. He had controlled his 52-year-old victim for years and isolated her from members of family, her sister told the court. A video shows Nutt dragging the wheeled suitcase out of the home he shared with Ms Walker, whose body was inside. He is then seen returning to the garden to try to cover the wheel tracks up in the mud. Her body was later found near a child's park by neighbours who were searching for Ms Walker after Nutt had reported her missing. Other CCTV footage released by West Yorkshire Police today following Nutt's sentencing shows Ms Walker - still in her wedding dress - returning from the pub with her new husband where they had celebrated their nuptials. This was the last time the mother-of-three was seen alive before Nutt beat and strangled her to death that night on October 27 last year. He told police they had gone on honeymoon to Skegness the next day, but Judge Jonathan Rose said there was no evidence to support that claim, and the judge was sure Ms Walker was already dead.

After a two-season run, the show came to an end in April 1966. Now the iconic family is being introduced to a new generation as Netflix prepares to release their new remake series, Wednesday. Other members of its herd were not so lucky, however, with pictures showing the black and white stripes of some of the animals disappearing into the river amidst a writhing of water, scales and teeth.
